    Wastegate types

    External


    An external wastegate is a separate self-contained mechanism typically used with turbochargers that do not have internal wastegates. An external wastegate requires a specially constructed turbo manifold with a dedicated runner going to the wastegate. The external wastegate may be part of the exhaust housing itself. External wastegates are commonly used for regulating boost levels more precisely than internal wastegates in high power applications, where high boost levels can be achieved. External wastegates can be much larger since there is no constraint of integrating the valve or spring into the turbocharger and turbine housing. It is possible to use an external wastegate with an internally gated turbocharger. This can be achieved through a specially designed bracket that easily bolts on and restricts the movement of the actuator arm, keeping it from opening. Another route involves welding the internal wastegate shut which permanently keeps it from opening, but failure of the weld can allow it to open again.
    External wastegates generally use a valve similar to the poppet valve found in the cylinder head. However they are controlled by pneumatics rather than a camshaft and open in the opposite direction. External wastegates can also use a butterfly valve, though that is far more rare

    Atmospheric/divorced wastegates

    A "divorced" wastegate dumps the gases directly into the atmosphere, instead of returning them with the rest of an engine's exhaust. This is done to prevent turbulence to the exhaust flow and reduce total back pressure in the exhaust system. Divorced wastegate dumper pipes are commonly referred to as "screamer pipes" due to the unmuffled waste exhaust gases and the associated loud noises they produce.
    Internal gates cannot generally be vented to the atmosphere because the internal wastegate port and turbine exducer are built into the same housing. Occasionally an exhaust downpipe for an internally gated turbocharger will be called 'divorced' because it integrates two tubes where one is intended for the wastegate only. It should be noted that it is difficult to truly separate the exhaust flow of the turbine and wastegate. Thus, internal wastegate turbos will rarely if ever feature an external dump.

    pakai wastegate kampung pun... cukup makan bh... kuyak jg jalan raya... peformance pun mantap... klu main turbo tp x cukup usin mari abg ajar...

    1) wastegate kampung - pantat turbo tpt kipas blakang kc weld dia kc jadi 2
    compartment... pastu 1 paip pg ekzoz.. paip satu
    pg jalan raya... kuat bunyi wastege ikut psi
    kamurang...

    2) Fuel regulator kampung - ambil 2 plate tebal agak2 3 inch panjang setiap
    satu... buat lubang hujung plate kiri dan kanan
    dua2 sekali... pasang nut dan kepit d tpt minyak
    return... adjust nut utk kc kurang minyak balik
    pg tangki...

    3) Boost controller kampung - setiap turbo ada booster atau vac turbo.. ada
    hos dri booster pg nipple turbo kan? pasang pili
    paip kecil mau high boost tutup... mau besa2

    x tahan.. ingat alang2 ka panas tu turbo.. tp blh jg la tarik hose panjang2 bawa masuk dlm keta... itu la songeh hose mesti high class tahan panas ngan x boleh terlipat... paip aquarium 2 simpan dlam keta... klu terjumpa lawan yang buli2 gatal la tangan memulas tp ingat2 tinguk turbo meter lebih dose turbo redzone trus keta.. bleeding++ engine..

    klu aku nda silap yang no3 tue pakai aircond punya adjust timming pon bole kan..klu mau kasi naik boost..kasi ketat saja..

    ada org buat tp pecah hose mandi petrol dlam keta hahaha... nanti la klu sya ada d kk sya unjuk amcm mau buat 2 regulator kampung, ngan boost controller kampung..
